Aberthaw Power Station supporting the engineers of the future

Aberthaw Power Station has supported three local students achieve qualifications for a career in engineering.

Thomas Worrall and Lewis Davies from Rhoose and Cwmbran successfully completed a four-year apprenticeship in July 2015 .

Alex Granville completed the four-year Power Technician Programme and is now an Assistant Mechanical Engineer at the site.

At a recent RWE award ceremony students were presented with their course certificates. Alex also received four awards for: Best Skills Course Results, Best Portfolio, Best Overall Theory and Highest Overall Achiever.

Aberthaw Power Station is currently recruiting for apprentices, technicians and graduates to join their schemes. To apply apprentices need 5 GCSEs including Maths, English and Science, grades A*-C, technicians need 2 A Levels A* - C and GCSE A*-C in Science and Maths or an A Levels equivalent (e.g. National Certificate), and graduates need a 2.2 in an engineering or science subject.
