Updated statement from RWE on the collapsed building at Didcot Power Station

We understand that this is an incredibly difficult and distressing time for the families of the missing loved ones and we are doing everything we can to assist in the ongoing recovery operation. We are arranging a meeting with the families at a time and location convenient to them.

On 14th March 2016, HSE informed us that the debris pile removal work could proceed provided it did not encroach on the actual exclusion zone around the standing structure which had previously not been permitted.

Today we presented an outline plan to HSE and Thames Valley Police which we believe will enable the work to commence this weekend.

Regarding the standing structure, we continue to work with our team of technical and engineering experts who are meeting on Thursday (17 March) to complete their analysis of the available data. Once the stability of the remaining structure has been verified and agreed with HSE, we will also gain access into the structure for visual inspection to finalise the assessment.
